Dozens suffer life-threatening reactions to drug circulating in Montgomery

In the last four days, first responders have received 41 calls related to the drug spice, which is commonly known as synthetic marijuana. Officials suspect the calls are all connected to the same batch of spice.
The symptoms they’ve seen are life-threatening. The users have had extremely elevated temperature and blood pressure levels, and many have been so combative and paranoid medics have needed police assistance to treat and transport the users. Baptist Hospital reports 36 spice cases to date while Jackson Hospital is still working on getting their numbers.
