It’s become readily apparent that few outside of law enforcement and the medical community really understand the true danger of these drugs. Most of the folks we’ve met on the street continue to think synthetics are just “fake weed” and don’t fully grasp how little doctors actually know about their effects on the human body – how little they can do to save someone overdosing on these drugs.

LA Times: 13 hospitalized in San Diego after overdose of synthetic drug Spice

Thirteen people were taken to local hospitals Sunday afternoon for emergency treatment after suffering from an overdose of the synthetic drug Spice, according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department. The 13, found throughout downtown, were suffering from vomiting and convulsions and displaying “extremely odd behavior,” said Fire Capt. Joe Amador. Ages of those treated ranged from 13 to 45.

A San Clemente teen’s dying wish meant many people could live. Connor Eckhardt’s parents are mourning his passing but also celebrating his legacy and the gifts he left others.
